Budget allocations are essential for city administrations to translate policies into action. In the past decade, Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has introduced several visionary policies, such as the Parking Policy (2018), the Comprehensive Mobility Plan (2018), and the Non-Motorised Transport (NMT) Policy (2021) to promote sustainable transport. 

 However, do the city’s budget allocations reflect these goals?  

 At ITDP India, we examined PCMC’s budget documents for fiscal years 2022-23 to 2024-25 to review the allocations for sustainable vs non-sustainable transport initiatives in the city.
